World Hindu Council of America mourns the lives lost in Boston terror attacks

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

The World Hindu Council of America (VHPA) expresses deep anguish at the terrible death and destruction caused by the bombings at the Boston Marathon today. We hope and pray that the American people stand united in opposition to violent extremism and heinous attacks.

We also appeal to the Hindu community in and around Boston to contact local hospitals and donate blood. In this tragic time when we are all asking questions and yearning for answers, we hope that we, as humanity, can all lend a helping hand, a comforting shoulder, and a gentle embrace, to the victims of these terror attacks. We extend our condolence to the family members of the deceased, and hope that steps are taken, both at the socio-political and if needed at the international level to bring the perpetrators and their masterminds to justice. VHPA extents complete support to the local authorities in Boston, in providing social and emotional counseling to the aggrieved.
