Press Release on the Recent Gruesome Killings of Hindus in Kashmir & in Afghanistan

May 5, 2006

On behalf of the Hindu American community of the USA, Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) expresses its deepest condolences to the grieving survivors of the innocent Hindus victims of terrorist killings in Kashmir and Afghanistan. VHPA shares the grief of the families of the departed ones, and assures that Hindus of America stand united with their brothers and sisters in Kashmir and Afghanistan in this time of their need.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America strongly condemns these malicious acts of terrorism. This is not the first time that innocent Hindus have been targeted by terrorists in recent years. The bomb blasts in Sankat Mochan Mandir in Varanasi, shootings in Akshardham, attempts to blow away Ramjanmabhoomi Mandir, communal riots in Mau, bombing in Delhi marketplaces during the holiest of Hindu festivals of Diwali, and the recent incidents in Kashmir and Afghanistan, all point to the fact that these acts of terrorism are not random, disconnected happenstances. A nefarious design seeking to terrorize Hindus, thereby, weakening Hindu's resolve is the motivation behind these terrorist acts. Unfortunately, governmental authorities of India have been callous and negligent in terms of protecting Hindu lives and property in India and elsewhere.

The Indian government authorities must take notice, and act with a sense of urgency to rectify this situation. We urge all concerned Americans to register their protest with the Indian Embassy by expressing their outrage at the callousness of the Indian establishment in terms of its commitments to the protection of Hindu lives and property in particular, and national integrity in general. It is a matter of deep concern that the Indian establishment is following its policy of continual appeasement of so called "minority" leadership even in the face of such blatant and heinous acts of terror.

To help the families of victims of these horrendous acts, VHPA is appealing for funds from the Hindu American community. Your contributions are tax deductible. You can write your checks in favor of VHPA with "Hindu Victims of Terrorism Fund" in the subject line. Please mail your contributions to: VHPA, P. O. Box 441505, Houston, TX 77244. You will get a receipt for your contributions.
